Scow project update, June 5, 2010.
We are starting to get into the "crunch time" phase. I have to go do remote fieldwork for the museum for most of the next 2 weeks, weather permitting. Patty Ralrick will update this blog and deal with other scow matters during that time. Perry has gotten the side planks on the scow done on one side and should have the upper decking and side planks on the other side done soon too. Then the tillers and tent wall/internal frame have to be made. It still continues to be rainy here which is delaying final scow construction work. The Rocky Mountains far off to the west are still covered with snow. Hopefully we will get some hot weather soon to melt all that snow and float us on our way. Still do not have a truck to move the scow for us and this is most stressful and worrisome. Also need to do a news release- I have already had interest from two Red Deer and one Calgary newspapers.
